How to Connect an AI App
An AI connection lets an AI app like Claude work on your ‘হবে নাকি Coffee?’ account while you chat with it. You can ask “How much did I earn this month?” or “Show me this week’s orders” and it looks it up for you. It costs nothing extra on our side. If your AI app needs a paid plan, that’s between you and them.
You decide what it can do, and you can switch it off whenever you like.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- A ‘হবে নাকি Coffee?’ account. Log in or create one for free.
- An AI app that supports MCP, the standard way AI apps connect to other services.
- Our link, which is the same for everyone:
https://mcp.hobenakicoffee.com/mcpStep 1: Add the link to your AI app
Section titled “Step 1: Add the link to your AI app”Pick the app you use.
Claude (website and desktop app)
Section titled “Claude (website and desktop app)”- Open Claude’s connector settings.
- Choose to add a custom connector.
- Give it a name like “হবে নাকি Coffee?” and paste the link above.
- Save it, then connect it when Claude asks.
Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI
Section titled “Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI”Run one command in your terminal.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http hobenakicoffee https://mcp.hobenakicoffee.com/mcpCodex
codex mcp add hobenakicoffee --url https://mcp.hobenakicoffee.com/mcpGemini CLI
gemini mcp add --transport http hobenakicoffee https://mcp.hobenakicoffee.com/mcpThen start the app and ask it to connect to “hobenakicoffee”. Each app has its own way of starting the sign-in, so follow what it shows you.
ChatGPT
Section titled “ChatGPT”We’re still checking which ChatGPT plans allow adding a custom connector. This page will say so once we know.
The Gemini app
Section titled “The Gemini app”Google only allows this in the US for now. Use Gemini CLI instead.
Step 2: Sign in and choose what it can do
Section titled “Step 2: Sign in and choose what it can do”Your AI app opens a ‘হবে নাকি Coffee?’ page and asks you to sign in. After that, you go through three short steps.
Where. Pick the accounts it works on: your own, and any team you’re on. Pick the services too:
- Account: your Public page, supporters, earnings, messages, team and Share kit links
- Gift: the coffee gifts you’ve received
- Newsletter: posts, drafts and how they’re doing
- Shop: products, orders, returns and reviews
If you also want it to help with things you’ve bought, choose from Purchases, Inbox and Settings. Purchases covers your orders, returns, memberships and gifts you’ve sent. Inbox covers your messages with creators. Settings covers notifications, email and auto-reply.
How much. Choose one:
- Read only: it can only look.
- Read and edit: it can look and make changes.
- Custom: you pick each permission yourself.
Changing prices and discounts is a separate switch. It’s off unless you turn it on.
Review. You see everything it will be able to do. Check it, then allow it. If you’ve connected this app before, we fill in what you picked last time, and you can change it.
Step 3: Ask in chat
Section titled “Step 3: Ask in chat”Now just ask. A few things people try:
- Creators: “How much did I earn this month, and which day was best?”, “Write a newsletter draft and send it for review”, “Add tracking numbers to my new orders”, “Reply to my supporter messages.”
- Supporters: “What have I bought and where is my order?”, “Show my memberships and the gifts I’ve sent”, “Request a return.”
It works on every team you’re on, but never beyond what you can do on that team. While a team is paused, it does nothing there.
What the AI cannot do
Section titled “What the AI cannot do”Even when you let it edit, these stay with you. You do them yourself in the app:
- Payments, payouts and refunds
- KYC and tax details
- Deleting anything
- Adding or removing team members
- Anything only the account owner can do
Newsletter posts and shop products don’t go live straight away. A manager reviews them first. It can’t delete anything either, only take something down by moving it back to drafts or unpublishing it.
Everything it does is labelled “via” the app’s name, so you can always see what you did and what the AI did.
How long a connection lasts
Section titled “How long a connection lasts”A connection ends on its own if you don’t use it for 90 days. To use it again, add the link and go through the steps once more.
If your AI app asks for too much too fast, you may see a “Throttled” badge on it in the app. That only means it should slow down. Nothing is cut off, and the badge goes away on its own within an hour.
Change what it can do, or disconnect
Section titled “Change what it can do, or disconnect”Go to Settings > Security > Connected apps. You’ll see every AI app you’ve connected. From there you can change its access or disconnect it. A disconnect stops it right away, on its very next try.
Questions
Section titled “Questions”Can the AI withdraw my money? No. Payments, payouts and refunds only happen in the app, and only you can do them.
What if someone sends a message that tries to boss the AI around? Supporters’ notes and buyers’ messages reach the AI marked as untrusted text. Even so, the AI can only do what you allowed, and the things above stay out of its reach. Read and edit only when you trust what it’s doing.
Something isn’t working. Check the link for typos, make sure you’re signed in to the right account, and try disconnecting and connecting again. If it still doesn’t work, contact us.
