How to Accept Creator Payments with bKash and Nagad
When a fan in Bangladesh wants to send you money, they reach for their phone, not a card. Bangladesh Bank counted 239.3 million mobile banking accounts in January 2025, and nearly ৳1.72 trillion moved through them in that month alone. Cards are growing: card-based e-commerce hit about ৳20.35 billion in February 2025, up 23.6% on the year before. Even so, e-CAB’s own administrator writes that cash on delivery still dominates online shopping. If you want fans to pay you, bKash and Nagad aren’t optional.
This guide covers both sides: how a fan pays, and how that money reaches your own bKash, Nagad, Rocket or bank account.
The fan’s side: how a payment works
Section titled “The fan’s side: how a payment works”A fan opens your profile link and decides what to do: send a few coffees, join your membership, buy a paid post or order something from your shop. The checkout shows the available payment options, and they pick the one they know.
- bKash, Nagad, Rocket: they pay with their wallet number, OTP and PIN, the same way they’d top up a phone or pay a bill.
- Debit or credit card (Visa/Mastercard): local cards work, because the price is in taka.
Payments are processed through Bangladeshi gateways such as SSLCommerz and aamarPay. Neither you nor the platform ever holds the fan’s card number or wallet PIN. Fans don’t need an account to send coffee gifts, though with one they get their payment history and purchased content in one place.
If a payment fails, no money is deducted and nothing is added to your earnings. The fan can simply try again.
Why this beats posting your personal number
Section titled “Why this beats posting your personal number”Plenty of pages still end their posts with “want to support? bKash this number.” It works, right up until three problems show up together.
The first is bookkeeping. Which payment came from which fan, which one was actually your cousin, how much you made this year: it’s close to impossible to untangle. On the platform every payment carries the supporter’s name and message, and the Transactions section exports your full history as a CSV.
The second is safety. Once a personal number is public, the scam calls and “I sent money by mistake, please return it” messages start arriving. bKash itself keeps warning customers never to share a PIN or OTP with anyone.
The third is scope. A personal number can only take tips. It can’t run a monthly membership, open a paid post or deliver a digital file on its own.
Your side: how withdrawals work
Section titled “Your side: how withdrawals work”- Verify your identity (KYC)
Submit clear photos of the front and back of your Bangladeshi NID and a selfie taken with a camera. You only do this once, and approval also adds a verified badge to your profile.
- Add a payout method
Open Payout Settings from Earnings and choose Add Payment Method. For mobile banking, enter the provider, account type, number and name. For net banking, enter the bank, branch, account name, account number and routing number.
- Enter an amount
Click Withdraw to see your available balance. You can withdraw anything from the ৳500 minimum up to your full available balance.
- Pick a method and confirm
Choose which account receives the money, check the details and confirm the withdrawal.
- Track the status
Your request moves from Requested to Approved, then Processing, then Paid. If something goes wrong it shows as Rejected or Failed, and the money goes back to your balance.
It helps to know why verification exists. To follow Bangladesh Bank and Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) guidance under the Money Laundering Prevention Act, every creator’s account has to be tied to an approved identity. A submission can be Pending, Under review, Approved, Rejected or marked Resubmission requested. There’s no promised turnaround time, so get it done well before you need your first withdrawal. More on identity verification.
Which payout method to choose
Section titled “Which payout method to choose”| Method | Timing | Best when |
|---|---|---|
| bKash | Sent within 24 business-day hours | You want money fast and your monthly amounts are small to medium |
| Nagad | Sent within 24 business-day hours | Nagad is your main wallet |
| Rocket | Sent within 24 business-day hours | Dutch-Bangla Bank’s Rocket is your main wallet |
| Bank account | Sent on the same timeline, then 2–3 more business days | Larger amounts, savings, or clean records for tax |
The platform may also set daily or monthly withdrawal limits. If you ever reach one, the app tells you, and you can withdraw again the next day or month.
One thing people often learn too late: the 24 hours count only business days, which run Sunday to Thursday in Dhaka time and skip public and bank holidays. A request made on Friday starts counting on Sunday, and a long Eid holiday pauses the clock. If you need money for Eid or an urgent expense, withdraw a few business days early.
What the fee looks like, worked through
Section titled “What the fee looks like, worked through”Until 31 December 2027, every creator pays the same 3.5% Launch rate as their Platform fee, on every service, and it already includes payment processing. Say an illustrator in Rajshahi earns this in a month:
| Source | Total |
|---|---|
| 155 coffees at ৳20 each | ৳3,100 |
| 18 members at ৳199 each | ৳3,582 |
| 11 brush packs at ৳250 each | ৳2,750 |
| Total | ৳9,432 |
At the Launch rate the Platform fee is ৳330.12, so ৳9,101.88 lands in the balance. The illustrator can withdraw ৳9,000 to bKash and the rest carries into next month. Your Earnings section shows the gross amount, fee and net for every payment. After the Launch rate ends, the fee depends on the service and your Volume the month before; the pricing page shows the Rate card.
Trade licence and tax
Section titled “Trade licence and tax”হবে নাকি Coffee? doesn’t ask for a trade licence to accept coffee gifts, run a membership or withdraw, only identity verification. That doesn’t make the income tax-free. Under the 2025-26 budget, the individual tax-free threshold is ৳3,50,000, set to rise to ৳3,75,000 from fiscal year 2026-27. If your total income from all sources crosses it, you’ll need to file a return. Talk to a tax adviser before making tax decisions, and keep the CSV export from your Transactions section ready to show them.
What's the minimum amount I can withdraw?
The minimum withdrawal is ৳500. Anything below that stays in your balance, because your earnings never expire.
How long does a bKash withdrawal take?
We send bKash, Nagad and Rocket withdrawals within 24 business-day hours of your request, counting Sunday to Thursday in Dhaka time and skipping holidays. Bank transfers take 2–3 more business days to arrive.
Can I accept payments before verifying my identity?
Yes. You can set up your profile and accept payments from fans without verification. You only need to complete NID and selfie verification before adding a payout method and withdrawing.
Should I add a personal or an agent bKash account?
When adding mobile banking you choose the account type (Personal or Agent). A personal account registered in your own name is the safest choice; using someone else's number makes any dispute over the money much harder to resolve.
What happens if a fan's payment fails?
If a payment fails, nothing is deducted from the fan's account and nothing is added to your earnings. The fan can try again; if it keeps failing, contact support.
If you haven’t started yet, log in and switch on coffee gifts; it’s the shortest path to a first payment. The full payout terms are in the Creator Agreement, and the other ways to earn are in the guide to creator income in Bangladesh.
