How to Sell Digital Products in Bangladesh
From ebooks, templates, presets and study notes to T-shirts and prints: a step-by-step guide to opening your own shop and selling digital and physical products in Bangladesh, with pricing, delivery, cash on delivery and worked numbers.
The best thing about a digital product is that you make it once and sell it a hundred times. A photographer in Khulna who bundles 20 Lightroom presets into a ৳350 pack doesn’t work a minute harder for the tenth sale than the first. No stock, no courier, no “my parcel never arrived.”
The trouble used to be elsewhere. Gumroad and similar foreign platforms price in dollars, and Bangladeshi buyers stall at checkout. Posting on Facebook, taking payment by bKash and DMing a Google Drive link does work, until that link is circulating in three groups within a week.
What digital products sell in Bangladesh
Things that save people time or help them earn sell first. “Pretty” things sell after that.
| Product | Example | Who buys it |
|---|---|---|
| Study notes and question banks | Chapter-by-chapter HSC physics notes (PDF) | Students and parents |
| Templates | 30 Canva post templates for a Facebook Page | Small online businesses |
| Presets and design assets | Lightroom presets, Procreate brushes, Bangla typography packs | Photographers, designers |
| Ebooks and guides | “A CV and interview guide for your first job in Dhaka” | Job seekers |
| Spreadsheets | A monthly budget and savings Google Sheet | Salaried workers, families |
| Audio and music | Background music packs for YouTubers | Content creators |
Try this: which question has landed in your inbox most often in the last three months? A complete, well-organised answer to it is probably your first product.
How digital delivery works
The moment a buyer pays with bKash, Nagad or a card, they get a secure download link. You don’t send anything, even when the order comes in at 3am.
Every sale generates its own time-limited link that stops working after a set number of downloads or once it expires. Your original file sits in private storage and is never exposed publicly. So even if someone posts the link in a group, it won’t work for long.
Physical products in the same shop
T-shirts, mugs, art prints and handmade goods can sit in the same storefront. Set a shipping rate for inside Dhaka and another for outside Dhaka on each product, once. You can add variants such as size and colour, and each combination has its own price and stock; the photo changes when a buyer picks a variant.
When an order comes in, you mark it Processing, Shipped (with the courier’s tracking number) and Delivered, and the buyer follows the same timeline.
Cash on delivery: how it works
Cash on delivery still rules online shopping in Bangladesh. According to e-CAB’s administrator, card-based e-commerce reached about ৳20.35 billion in February 2025, up 23.6% year on year, and cash on delivery still dominates. For physical goods, offering COD is close to mandatory.
You can switch COD on or off for each product. If a cart contains even one item without COD, the whole order can’t be paid by COD. Because you or your courier collect the cash from the buyer, the platform fee on that order is recorded as “COD debt” against your wallet, and it’s paid off first from whatever is credited to your balance next. Once you’ve received the cash, confirm it in the app.
Remember two rules, because under the default settings either one can deactivate your shop: if your balance minus your COD debt falls below −৳500, or if any COD order sits unsettled for more than 30 days. Confirming cash receipt promptly after delivery avoids both.
Pricing, and what you actually take home
The classic mistake with digital products is thinking “it’s just a file, it cost nothing” and selling it for ৳50. Your cost isn’t the file; it’s the hundred hours it took to make. To a buyer, the product is worth whatever time or money it saves them. If 30 Canva templates save a shop a month of design costs, ৳499 is cheap.
Say a teacher in Mymensingh sells this in a month:
| Product | Price | Sales | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| HSC chemistry notes (PDF) | ৳150 | 80 | ৳12,000 |
| Model test pack (PDF) | ৳250 | 35 | ৳8,750 |
| Printed notes book (COD) | ৳450 | 12 | ৳5,400 |
| Total | ৳26,150 |
The current 3.5% platform fee comes to ৳915.25, leaving ৳25,234.75. Printing and courier costs for the book are the teacher’s own, and shipping is charged to buyers separately. Check the latest fee on the pricing page.

Tools that help you sell more
The shop comes with promotion tools built in, nothing extra to buy:
- Flash sales: discount one product or a batch between a start and end time, with a live countdown.
- Coupon codes: percentage or flat discounts on the whole order, chosen products or shipping. Cap total uses and uses per buyer, and set codes aside for first-time buyers. Posting a code like
EID20on Facebook before Eid also makes that campaign easy to track. - Bundle offers: buyers who add enough flash-sale items get an extra discount, applied automatically at checkout.
- Send as a gift: buyers can add a personal note; digital gifts go straight to the recipient’s inbox.
Discounts stack in a fixed order: flash sale, then bundle, then coupon. You also get ratings and reviews, an automatic bestseller card based on real sales, buyer wishlists, a way for buyers to ask you questions before purchase, and your own SEO title and description for the shop.
Opening your shop, step by step
- 1
Log in and switch on the shop
Turn on the shop from Services on your dashboard. Pick a theme, or describe the look you want and let AI build one, then set your logo, cover and colours.
- 2
Write your shop policies
Returns and refunds, digital products, shipping, privacy and terms. Spell out when you will and won't refund a digital file; it saves arguments later.
- 3
Add your first product
For digital, upload the file. For physical, set variants, stock, both shipping rates and COD. If you're stuck on a title or description, take the AI listing helper's draft and rewrite it in your own voice.
- 4
Submit it for review
New products go through a platform review before they're published. If one is rejected you'll see the reason, and you can fix it and resubmit.
- 5
Share your link
There's no marketplace listing every creator's shop yet, so buyers arrive through your link. Pin your best products to your creator page, and put the link on your Facebook Page, in your YouTube descriptions and in pinned group posts.
Keep your first product small. Not a 200-page ebook, but a 20-page practical guide you can finish in a week. If it sells, that’s your proof the bigger product is worth building. If it doesn’t, you’ve lost a week, not six months.
FAQ
Can I sell digital and physical products from the same shop?
Yes. A downloadable ebook and a printed tote bag can sit side by side; the digital one is delivered instantly and the physical one goes through shipping and tracking.
Can someone keep re-downloading my file forever?
No. Every sale generates its own time-limited download link with a download cap. Once it expires or hits the cap it stops working, and your original file stays in private storage.
Do I have to handle shipping myself?
Yes, packing and handing orders to a courier is on you, and you set your own shipping rates. The platform tracks each order from Processing to Delivered and keeps a record of which COD orders have been settled.
Do I need a trade licence to sell products?
The platform doesn't ask for a trade licence to open a shop or withdraw, only identity verification. Selling products regularly is still a business, though, so as sales grow, get professional advice on a local trade licence and tax.
Is there a marketplace where buyers browse every creator's shop?
Not yet. For now your shop is your own storefront, and buyers reach it through the link you share. A shared discovery space is in the works.
How to withdraw your sales to bKash, Nagad or a bank is covered in the bKash and Nagad payments guide. For steady monthly income alongside your shop, read the membership guide, and see every feature on the shop feature page.
