Introduction
If you want to delete your হবে নাকি Coffee? account and all associated data, follow either of the methods below. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, posts, messages, and other associated information — this action cannot be undone. Exactly what is deleted, and what may be retained anonymously (to preserve other users’ transaction records), is detailed below — also see our Privacy Policy.
What gets deleted, and what stays
As soon as your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:
- Profile information (name, bio, photos, username)
- Published posts, feed content, and shop/product listings (a post a reader paid for or was gifted stays readable to them)
- Messages and conversations
- Payout/banking methods (bKash, Nagad, bank account details)
- Memberships, newsletter subscriptions, reviews, and service requests
Bangladesh law requires us to keep some records after an account closes. These are kept for at least 5 (five) years, with your name and profile details removed from them:
- Transaction history, wallet records, and withdrawal requests (Income Tax Ordinance 2023 and Bangladesh Bank guidelines)
- KYC documents and verification records (Money Laundering Prevention Act 2012), in private, encrypted storage
A transaction record from another user’s purchase or gift also stays on their side of the ledger, without the link to your identity, so the platform’s accounting and the other party’s records stay intact. See our Privacy Policy for how long each kind of record is kept.
Option 1: Delete your account yourself
You can delete your account and all associated data directly from your account settings:
- Go to Profile settings.
- Find the “Delete account” option at the bottom of the page.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm deletion.
Option 2: Contact us
If you can’t access your account or need assistance, you can request data deletion via our Contact page or by emailing us directly at support@hobenakicoffee.com. We may ask you to verify the email or username associated with your account. Once verified, requests are typically completed within 30 days.
