Ko-fi doesn't hold your money: supporters pay straight into your own PayPal or Stripe account, and Ko-fi says those are currently its only payment options. So using Ko-fi depends on having one of those accounts where you live.

To be fair: fees aren't the whole story. Ko-fi Free charges 0% on one-off tips and Ko-fi Gold is 0% for US$12 a month. Every creator pays our 3.5% Launch rate on every service until 31 Dec 2027. After that, the fee depends on the service and last month's Volume; the Rate card is on our Pricing page. For creators in Bangladesh, the bigger difference is which account the money has to land in.

Switching from Ko-fi

Move at your own pace. You don't need to close your Ko-fi page first.

  1. Create your page

    Sign up with your email and set up your profile.

  2. Recreate your offers

    One-off tips become coffee gifts, memberships become your one monthly membership plan, supporter-only posts become members-only posts, and shop items move to your shop. Commissions don't have a direct match yet; you can sell a fixed-price service as a digital product and agree the details with your buyer.

  3. Export your supporters

    Make a list of the supporters you're allowed to contact from your Ko-fi account, and only reach out in ways they've agreed to.

  4. Tell your audience

    Share your new link on Ko-fi, your socials and your bio.

  5. Keep Ko-fi running a while

    Monthly supporters on Ko-fi stay billed through PayPal or Stripe until they cancel. Give them a clear date and a reason to join you, and keep your Ko-fi page running until then.

  6. Set up withdrawals

    Verify your ID and add bKash, Nagad, Rocket or a bank account.

Questions creators ask

Why use হবে নাকি Coffee? instead of Ko-fi?

Ko-fi needs a PayPal or Stripe account to receive payments and is available in English only. হবে নাকি Coffee? lets supporters pay in taka with bKash, Nagad or card, offers cash on delivery for physical products, and works in Bangla and English. If you already get paid through PayPal or Stripe and your supporters are mostly abroad, Ko-fi may suit you better.

Can I use Ko-fi without PayPal or Stripe?

Ko-fi says PayPal and Stripe are currently its only payment options, because payments go straight into your own account (checked 16 September 2026). Check that one of them supports receiving payments in your country before you start.

Is Ko-fi free?

Joining is free. Ko-fi Free charges 0% on one-off tips and 5% on other payments. New creators start on Standard, which is 5% on everything, including tips, and can switch it off. Ko-fi Gold costs US$12 a month for a 0% service fee. PayPal or Stripe fees, usually around 3% + US$0.30, apply on top.

Can Ko-fi supporters pay in taka?

Ko-fi's page currencies are USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, BRL, CAD, JPY, SGD, THB, NZD; taka (BDT) isn't one of them (checked 16 September 2026). On হবে নাকি Coffee?, everything is in taka.

Is Ko-fi available in Bangla?

Making a page is free. Every creator pays our 3.5% Launch rate on every service until 31 Dec 2027. After that, the fee depends on the service and last month's Volume; the Rate card is on our Pricing page. You'll find withdrawal and tax details there too. Compare the total from sale to your account, not just one number.

Can I move my Ko-fi memberships?

No. We don't import memberships or move payment plans. Share your new page and keep Ko-fi running until your members have moved.

Do I need documents to start?

No. Sign up with your email. You verify your identity before your first withdrawal.
